Dr Luigi Colangelo

Dr Luigi Colangelo graduated in 1990 in Chieti. From 1997 to 2000, he was in charge of the Orbitoplasty and Tear Ducts Department at the University Hospital of Chieti.

In 1995, 1996 and 2000 he trained in Clinical, Surgery and Pathology of the orbit at the "Hospital de Oftalmologia Santa Lucia" and at the Hospital de Clinicas "Jose de San Martin" in Buenos Aires (Argentina). He was the first foreign fellow of Dr. Daniel Weil.
In 2001, he obtained the title of researcher of "Search for biomaterials" on orbit plastic surgery.

He trained in Ophthalmoplastic Surgery living formative experiences at Wills Eye Institute, Philadelphia, IMO with Ramon Medel in Spain, and with Michel Tazartes in France.
From 2000 to 2018 he has been teaching and working as a Specialist Consultant in Orbital and Orbitoplastic Surgery at the Ophthalmology Resident School of the University of Chieti.
Currently, Dr. Colangelo is head of the Department of Oculoplastics at the "Tortorella Clinic" in Salerno.

He has published about 60 scientific papers and presentations as author and co-author at national and international level. 
Creator and organizer of the 4 editions of the INTERNATIONAL COURSE OF OCULOPLASTIC SURGERY IN AMALFI COAST.
He is a full member of ESOPRS and SICOP (Italian Society of Oculoplastic Surgery).
